Web Sites. Where are they? |
|

As I research the WWW for useful
content I can share with SWIIC users, I have noticed one
glaring fact. There are simply not enough sites out there
period! I use the web for almost everything; Online banking,
paying my bills, research to settle the dispute as to who that
darn actor is that is playing in the movie we are watching,
and "oh yea" business hours of establishments I plan on
patronizing. Restaurants are particularly scarce on the web. Yes, restaurants! I know you are thinking
'This guy is way too much of a geek or has way too much time
on his hands'. Not really. Wouldn't you like to
leisurely browse a menu from home or actually know what time
the establishment stops serving. Maybe information as to what
is offered for people with dietary needs etc.. The clues are
endless!
Information in the hands of consumers is priceless to a
business. That is why business spends so much money on
advertising. Web sites that are neat, concise and informative
are a tool business owners need more and more every day as the
population grows more dependant on the Internet for
information both locally and nationally.
Think about it for a minute, and whether you are a consumer or
a business owner the Internet can and will help make your life
a bit easier. You know, if you were not using the Internet,
you wouldn't be reading this. |
